Manuscript Submission
Manuscript Deadline: July 15, 2024
Please, read this page carefully before submitting your manuscript. You will get information about the formatting of your manuscript, as well as the website link to submit your manuscript.
1) Determining the Journal for your manuscript: Vacuum or Surface and Coatings Technology?
All Accepted papers will be published in special issues of Vacuum or Surface and Coatings Technology.
The authors can choose to which journal they submit their article. If the paper does not fit the scope of the chosen journal, the editor will transfer the paper to the other journal.
Manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that the authors have obtained the necessary authority for publication and will be peer-reviewed according to the usual high standards of these archival international journals. Upon acceptance of an article by the Editors, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the copyright to Elsevier Science Publishers.

Again, please adhere to the deadline of July 15, 2024, for the submission of your manuscript. This will allow our editorial team to initiate early the peer review process, complete their editorial work rapidly, and ensure timely publication. We very much appreciate your cooperation.
Please note: the submission can only be done through the special Elsevier’s website submission for our conference found on the journal submission page, as explained below. The general instructions to write and submit the manuscript are also explained below.
Very Important: Note that manuscripts will not be accepted for publication in the Special Issues unless they have been delivered at the conference as oral or poster presentations by the authors listed in the program.
2) Cover Letter
Your cover letter must clearly include:
- The abstract number assigned by the conference organizers.
- The title of the abstract.
- The on-site presentation identification number as listed in the program book.
- The name of the presenter at the conference.
- The novelty and originality of your research and its scientific contribution beyond previously published papers.
3) Manuscript Format

4) Submitting your Manuscript to Vacuum
- Go to: https://www2.cloud.editorialmanager.com/vac/default2.aspx
- Login to the website as “author.”
- Select “Submit New Manuscript.”
- In the new page, choose the “Article Type” of your submission from the drop-down menu at the left. You must choose: ICMCTF 2024 as the article type.
Please note: If you choose a different option, your article won’t be considered by the ICMCTF 2024 Conference.
5) Submitting your manuscript to Surface and Coatings Technology
- Go to: https://www2.cloud.editorialmanager.com/surfcoat/default2.aspx
- Login to the website as “author.”
- Select “Submit New Manuscript.”
- In the new page, choose the “Article Type” of your submission from the drop-down menu at the left. You must choose: VSI: ICMCTF 2024_SCT as the article type.
Please note: If you choose a different option, your article won’t be considered by the ICMCTF 2024 Conference.
6) Submission Problems
If you have a website problem when submitting your manuscript, you can always check the “Help” section from Elsevier at each journal, as well as send them an e-mail.
